Consider the ways in which issues of globalisation as discussed on the module are represented in a particular case. This case could relate to an organisation, an event, legislation, or a particular policy. You should not choose any of the examples that we have covered on the course, but you can choose any other case that you are interested in. (We have already discussed MacDonald, HSBC, IKEA, and Coca cola)
Protocol:
• Select a manageable number of texts (c. 2-6) which demonstrate your case. You may choose different genres of texts, including written reports or legal documents, websites, TV commercials, blogs etc. Make sure you provide links and other relevant information to enable us to access the material.
• With reference to the literature, explain what aspect of globalisation you focus on and why you think this is an issue.
• Critically analyse and discuss the ways in which globalisation is reflected, enacted and/or challenged in your chosen case.
• You should situate your analysis with reference to other published research papers on your theme/issue.
• Conclude by highlighting what insights about globalisation can be gained by your case.
